Holiday Generosity

2019 Holiday Generosity

How can you be a blessing to others this season?

The holidays lend themselves to a perfect opportunity to be generous to others. Each year we offer resources to families looking for ways to bless others this holiday season.

Check out a few of these suggestions with great organizations and some of our ministry partners. Choose one or two that might interest you or we encourage you to bless wherever God has called you.

Thanksgiving Meals

Begins October 19/20 | Ends November 28

For 25 years, RiverTree has partnered with several local churches to serve together and make an impact in Stark County by providing Thanksgiving meals to those in need.

It has grown to include seven churches serving over 10,000 meals in 2018. This year, RiverTree Jackson will provide over 1,600 of those meals with your help!

Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes

Begins October 26/27 | Return by November 17

With a goal of providing 850 gift-filled shoeboxes from RiverTree Jackson, we partner with Operation Christmas Child (OCC) to bring joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world.

This program provides an opportunity for everyone to be involved in a simple, hands-on missions project while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas—Jesus Christ, God’s greatest gift.

Adopt-a-Family

Begins November 9/10 | Return Gifts by December 1

Families in financial distress in our church and throughout our community will be able to enjoy Christmas. This is a great opportunity for RiverTree partners, families and GoCommunities to adopt a family who may otherwise not have any Christmas at all!

Details at Info Table during weekend services.

PROJECT KARE STOCKINGS

Begins November 23/24 | Return by December 8

This annual Christmas project with Stark County Department of Job & Family Services provides gifts and clothing to children who otherwise might not receive anything at Christmas. Donors are provided gender, age-range of child and a list of gift ideas to fill a stocking.

Financial donations are also needed to provide gift certificates for teenagers, emergency gifts, and for those children who were not adopted for Christmas.

Christmas Coat Drive

Begins October 19/20 | Ends December 8

There are many Stark County residents in need of warm winter coats, hats, gloves and scarves this year. In coordination with Community Christmas, please help by dropping off new or gently used winter weight coats/jackets/winter accessories.

Large donation boxes are set up in the Main Hall to receive your donations.

RIVERTREE FOOD PANTRY

Donate non-perishable food items at the Welcome Center, or give via check to RiverTree, memo line Food Pantry.
